SWALLOW EVALUATION IN GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA

Food makes its way through your mouth and into your pharynx when you swallow. After going through the pharynx, the food continues its journey through the esophagus before ending up in the stomach. A series of muscles in all these areas make this process possible. If you suffer from a swallowing disorder, you may find these muscles do not work like they should, which can create problems when you try to drink or eat.

Aspiration is always a looming risk if you have dysphagia, which is why if you have a swallowing disorder, it should be evaluated, confirmed, and treated by a professional as soon as possible. At TwinCity Medical Mobile, we perform swallow evaluation tests on our state-of-the-art traveling medical van, and we make sure each and every one of our patients in Gastonia, North Carolina receives focused, compassionate care.

If your physician orders a swallow evaluation, you will come on board our medical van to have a Modified Barium Swallow test performed. Our owner and founder is a highly experienced Physician Assistant, and he, along with a Speech Language Therapist, administers every test. After we complete the swallow evaluation, which involves taking X-rays of the swallowing process, we will record the results onto DVR, so everyone who needs a copy can easily view them at their leisure.

We want to make the swallow evaluation process easier and convenient for our patients. We would be happy to give you more information about our unique approach to swallow studies, so give us a call at TwinCity Medical Mobile today.
