Many people who have problems swallowing also have dysphagia.
If you have problems swallowing, you may also have a condition known as dysphagia. While dysphagia affects people across all age groups, the elderly are most likely to develop this condition. At TwinCity Medical Mobile, we saw a need to help those with problems swallowing by performing modified barium swallow tests directly at their residences.
Your physician may order one of these tests if you have problems swallowing. When we receive notice from your physician, we will travel to the assisted living facility, nursing home, or other care facility you stay at to perform the test. After arrival, we will ask that you consume a solution that contains barium. Then, we will track the barium’s route via X-ray and record the results onto DVR. We will give you a copy of the results as well as anyone involved with your care, so they can view them when needed.
We realize that if you have problems swallowing, enduring the testing process at an outpatient facility or hospital may be exhausting and time-consuming. When we travel throughout the Hickory, North Carolina area, we eliminate this inconvenience and make the MBS testing process convenient and hassle-free.
We are passionate about helping our patients and believe our medical mobile services reflect this goal. Contact us at TwinCity Medical Mobile today for further information about our approach to testing or to schedule an appointment.
